Behavior Modification Therapy as Obesity Care Strategy

Abstract

|
Objects: The aim of this study was evaluate the effect of Behavior Modification Therapy.
Methods: We examined the body compositions of 20 obese patients who were treated by Behavior Modification Therapy for 3 months by bio-impedancemetry.
Results: In the changes of body composition by Behavior Modification Therapy, the reduction of body weight was 3.14¡¾1.33 kg(p<0.05), that of lean body mass was 0.14¡¾1.48kg(p>0.05), that of fat mass was 3.00¡¾1.53kg(p<0.05), that of BMI was 1.30¡¾0.54kg/m©÷(p<0.05) and that of WHR was 0.028¡¾0.020(p<0.05).
Conclusion: Body fat mass, body fat rate, BMI, WHR were significantly reduced after Behavior Modification Therapy.
